Shakti Kapoor defends son

October 06, 2008 15:56 IST

Shakti Kapoor defended his son Siddhant -- who was detained by the Mumbai police after being caught during a raid at a rave party -- and stated that he was innocent.

"My son is innocent," the actor told reporters. "He travels everywhere in the country, as he is a disc jockey. In this particular party, he was just playing music as a disc jockey, when he was apprehended."

Eight alleged drug peddlers were arrested and 241 persons were detained when the police raided a night club in Mumbai on Sunday night.

"I

am completely against drugs and believe that anyone, who is caught in the act must be hung upside down and beaten up," Kapoor added. He further informed that his son was released by the police and would come home soon.

"My son was just playing music, therefore he was not involved in any way. He has got a clean chit from police. I feel this party will give him a lesson so that next time he will be careful while going [to a party] as a DJ," Kapoor said.
