His Kolkata-based girlfriend is someone the young singer is very smitten by, and he is keeping her name a secret.
Amit confirms, "She wants to keep our relationship personal. She gets angry when the media flashes her name. So I avoid discussing her any more."
Apparently Sana, now based in Mumbai, proposed to her over the phone.
To avoid fuelling gossip about the other female finalists, it's necessary to reveal that Amit's enigmatic lady love was disqualified during the initial Indian Idol rounds.
Amit's father told rediff.com there are no marriage plans yet; his elder brother must get married first.
