Charges will be framed in a local court against Salman Khan in a case relating to the hunting of two blackbuck in Kakani, in 1998.

The case under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, and sections 143, 144 and 148 of the Indian Penal Code relating to joining assembly with a deadly weapon, will come up for hearing in the Judicial Magistrate's court today, officials have said.

Just what is a blackbuck?

A petition had been filed before the court to grant exemption to Salman from personal appearance as he was busy with the shooting of a film elsewhere, the actor's counsel Hastimal Sarswat said.

Salman news shocks Bollywood

During the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hain, a case was lodged by the state Forest Department against Salman on allegations that two blackbuck were killed at Kakani on October 1 and 2, 1998. Police filed a chargesheet in the case in 2000. The court will now be framing charges.
