February 05, 2009 14:21 IST

Raveena Tandon is making a comeback in Fir Tum Mil Gaye. The film that will go on floors in April this year is a remake of Tamil film June R and is produced under the banner Hari Om Sai and directed by Revathy Verma. It also stars Jaya Bachchan, R Madhavan and Ayesha Takia.

Takia plays a character who adopts a mother (Jaya) from an old age home. "We always hear of couples adopting babies from orphanages, here it is the reverse where a young girl adopts a mother. Jayaji suits the role perfectly," said Revathy.

She said when she was in talks for the Hindi version, she wanted Jaya to play the mother's part. 'June R' was released in 2006 starring Jyotika, Khushboo, Surya among others.

"Jayaji's confirmation to this role is a great achievement to us. We were looking forward to her playing the mother's role because she has that motherly charm and softness," Preya Arora, spokesperson of Hari Om Sai productions said.

Madhavan also plays an important part in the film. This is the first project of Hari Om Sai productions. The production house has two major projects lined up with big star cast, Arora said. "Everything is under wraps as of now," she said declining to give details.
