For Brahmastra fans who can't wait for the sequel, here's good news.
At a fan event on Reddit recently, Ranbir Kapoor confirmed that Brahmastra 2 is 'heavy into writing'.
'Brahmastra Part 2 is heavy into writing. We are working on it all the time. Just last week, Ayan (Mukerji, Director) narrated the film to me and he has gone 10 times bigger than Part 1 -- his idea, his thought, the character,' Ranbir says.
'He is working on War 2 right now. So the plan is to finish War 2 by mid-next year and we start shooting hopefully by the end of next year or the beginning of 2025.'
Ranbir also addressed the criticism the makers faced for the 'missing chemistry' between Shiva and Isha (Ranbir and Alia Bhatt's characters) in the first film.
'Definitely a lot of work has already been happening on the film,' he says.
'We understood the kind of criticism for the film, what worked for it and what didn't. So we have put everything into consideration, the dialogue and comments on Shiva and Isha's missing chemistry. A lot of criticism was constructive and we have taken that into our stride and we are trying to understand that and go beyond that.'
Brahmastra Part One: Shiva is the first part of the planned trilogy in the Astraverse, and also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna.
Shah Rukh Khan had a cameo in the first part.
If reports are to be believed, the second part will feature Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.
Earlier, Ayan had announced the release dates of the Brahmastra movies: Part Two - Dev will hit the theatres in December 2026 while Part Three will release in the theatres exactly a year after the second part, in December 2027.
