In yet another sign of Indian cinema going global, British actress Sophie Dahl has been signed up to play a leading role in an English-language Bollywood film.
The 24-year-old actress will play an Englishwoman making 'an affectionate documentary' about the Indian film industry in the film titled The King Of Bollywood. The film will co-star Om Puri, who is already famous in the UK for his roles in films such as East is East, My Son The Fanatic and City of Joy.
Producer Andrew Pavord says, "Sophie is not an obvious choice but is was an inspired piece of casting by the English casting director. She is very much looking forward to being in a Bollywood film."
