A few days after winning his first Best Actor award at the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA), Nivin Pauly has bagged the Best Actor award at the Kerala State Film Awards.
"This is totally unexpected. I am overwhelmed," says the young hero, who won the awards for his outstanding performance in 1983 and Bangalore Days.
He shared a photograph of him receiving the SIIMA award from superstar Mohanlal on his Facebook, above, and wrote, 'My first ever Best Actor award....and having received this award from our dearest Lalettan was the icing on the cake.. I feel blessed to have shared the stage with Lalettan, the Stalwart, on this special occasion. Truly unforgettable!!'

My Life Partner springs a surprise at the Kerala State Film Awards
My Life Partner, the first Malayalam film on homosexuality, did not find too many takers but it bagged two awards at the Kerala State Film Awards.
Sudev Nair shared the Best Actor award with Nivin Pauly; the film also won an award for the second Best Film.
Surprised by the announcement, debutant director M V Padmakumar said, "I have gone through tremendous pressure making this film and the awards have given me the energy to look forward with a positive frame of mind."
The story is about two men, who are attracted to each other. But the director says that it is not a gay film.
"Honestly, I have been inspired by a living person. I have consulted several experts on this and they have given me valuable inputs that helped me in creating the characters," he says.

Nazriya hints about comeback plans
Nazriya Nazim, who had taken a break from acting after her marriage to actor Fahadh Faasil, has hinted that she could be making a comeback soon.
"I had never said that I am quitting acting after marriage. If I am happy with a role, I could well be doing it," she said after winning the Kerala State Film Award for the Best Actress, for her roles in Ohm Shaanthi Oshaana and Bangalore Days.
