Aamir in Indo-British film?

April 23, 2003 12:42 IST

Aamir Khan is being considered for the Indo-British venture Maheen opposite a British actress.

Aamir has already committed himself to Ketan Mehta's The Rising, opposite Rani Mukherji. He will play Mangal Pandey, a freedom fighter. Bobby Bedi, who has produced films like Shekhar Kapur's Bandit Queen and Deepa Mehta's Fire, will produce the film.

Neha's boon

Filmmaker Harry Baweja is glad Former Miss India-Universe Neha Dhupia replaced Lagaan's Gracy Singh in Qayamat.

Says Baweja, "Gracy Singh's date hassles made us take Neha in my film. It has proved to be a blessing in disguise.

"There is a scene where Neha comes out of the pool wearing a swimming costume. I don't think viewers would have digested Gracy doing it, but they can surely visualise Neha in that [swimwear]," he says.

Qayamat is ready for release.

Saahil back in style

Saahil Khan virtually disappeared after N Chandra's semi-hit Style (Sharman Joshi, Riya Sen).

He will now feature in N Chandra's Excuse Me. He is also working in Sangeeta Ahir's [former wife of producer Sudhakar Bokade, who made Saajan] Sab Golmaal Hai, directed by Ajay Chandok.

Besides, he is the male lead opposite Urmila Matondkar in Ajay Phansekar's new film. Phansekar earlier made Encounter - The Killing with Naseerudin Shah and Tara Deshpande.
