Mrudula Murali to make her Bollywood debut

Mrudula Murali is all set to play the female lead in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Raag Desh, based on the Indian National Army (INA) trials.

Dhulia, who has directed films like Haasil, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster and the National Award winning Paan Singh Tomar, is well known for his performance as an actor in Gangs of Wasseypur.

Mrudula played the heroine opposite Fahadh Faasil in last year’s in Ayaal Njanalla. She was recently seen in the Malayalam film Shikhamani.

Kavalam Narayana Panicker passes away

Kavalam Narayana Panicker

Eminent dramatist, theatre personality, poet and lyricist Kavalam Narayana Panicker passed away at the age of 88 on June 26.

Kavalam began his career as a lawyer and later decided to devote his attention to the world of arts and literature. He is the founder-director of the theatre group named Sopanam. 

He is well known for his works like Avanavan Kadamba, Daivathar and for several plays adapted from the classics.

He was conferred with the Padma Bhushan honour and has won the Kerala State Film award in the Best Lyricist category twice.

His son Kavalam Sreekumar is a noted singer.

Sara Arjun in Ann Maria Kalippilaanu

Sara Arjun, the cute kid who played Vikram’s daughter in Deiva Thirumagal and was seen in a pivotal role in Saivam, will make her adult debut with Midhun Manuel Thomas’ Malayalam film Ann Maria Kalippilaanu.

The first look poster of Ann Maria Kalippilaanu features her with Sunny Wayne and Aju Varghese.

Midhun had earlier scripted Ohm Shaanthi Oshaana and has directed Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu.
