Jayam Raja's blockbuster Thani Oruvan garnered instant critical and commercial success since its release two months ago and several producers have been vying for the remake rights of the film.

While talks are on for the Hindi remake with Salman Khan, the Telugu remake has been finalised.

The film will be directed by Surender Reddy with Ram Charan essaying the role of Mithran IPS, played by Jayam Ravi in the original.

The makers are, however, still on the lookout for someone to play the character Siddharth Abhimanyu made memorable by Arvind Swamy. Reports suggest that the producers were keen on signing Arvind Swamy himself, but the actor is believed to have refused the offer.

The latest buzz is that R Madhavan has been approached for the role.

Can the suave Madhavan do justice to the role that was played by the charismatic Arvind Swamy? Let's wait and watch.
