What a Diwali release is to Bollywood, Makar Sankranti is to the Telugu film industry.
The auspicious January 14 date in 2021 went vacant due to the pandemic.
But it looks like the Telugu film industry is determined to make up for lost time. As many as four biggies are lined for Makar Sankranti 2022!
Among them is Mahesh Babu's Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Prabhas's Radhe Shyam, Venkatesh-Varun Tej's F3 and Pawan Kalyan's untitled Telugu remake of the Malayalam film, Ayyappanum Koshiyum.
All four projects are very different from one another in content and intent.
Sarkaru Vaari Paata is a social-awakening message-oriented film, a genre Mahesh Babu says he will explore more deeply to use his star power to make a difference to society.
Prabhas's Radhe Shyam is a love story, a first in his career.
Pawan Kalyan's film is an action thriller.
Venkatesh's F3 is an out-and-out comedy.
