Madhur Bhandarkar's new film Corporate opened to great reviews last week, and the critics feel we have another Page 3.
And when Madhur chatted with Rediff readers on July 10, he was flooded with congratulatory messages.
Madhur, who was a video cassette delivery boy before he became director, talked about Corporate, his career mistakes, and about his next movie, the last in his triology, Signal.

Her suave chic look, dapper suits, closely cropped hair and moist eyes convey a hell lot of misery and claustrophobic loneliness. Hope to see her more often in roles of substance for she can carry off serious stuff with elan. And obviously she has had her fill of glamorous bimbette song-n-dance; it's time for the real thing baby. Kay Kay Menon is a smoldering lava of perfection. His restless energy and deep dark eyes can do magic with the vocabulary of silence. Rajat Kapoor as Vinay Sehgal is another bright spark. In fact he is a total surprise. For his calm exterior inhabits an ambitious monster. Raj Babbar as Dharmesh Marwah justifies his reputation of being a fine actor. But the disappointments are the two young guns Minisha Lamba and Sammir Dattani who are completely wasted in spectator parts. Madhur Bhandarkar answers, The people who have already seen the movie Corporate have loved the movie. The response has been great all over the country. I am sure you will also love this movie.
Madhur Bhandarkar answers, Corporate is about the board room politics and about the ups and downs in the corporate world and fight between them for one-upmanship. Its the fight between two corporate giants for their supremacy which is very common in this world.

Madhur Bhandarkar answers, Yes, Page 3 was about cocktail parties, Corporate is about board room politics and Traffic Signal is about the street kids and the streets of Mumbai. The film has a dark humour and a human emotion story.

Madhur Bhandarkar answers, Corporate will be releasing in USA this week. Its doing extremely very well in India, London and Dubai and I am sure it will do well in USA also.

Madhur Bhandarkar answers, It depends on the subject. I feel nobody makes women-oriented movies in India, so its an attempt from my side. My next movie Traffic Signal is a male protaganist movie played by Kunal Khemu, so this will break the myth of me being a female-centric director.

Madhur Bhandarkar answers, I come from very middle class family. I am very rooted person and I interact a lot with the common man. I am still a common man and I still travel in train, buses and autos. So I am also one of you people. Nobody has so far made an attempt to show common people's emotions, I am trying to do something on that.
Madhur Bhandarkar answers, Absolutely right, my wife also cribs about the same. I would also like to work with stars. I am open to the idea and it depends on the subject.
Madhur Bhandarkar answers, Approximately 4 crores.
Gaurav asked, Hi Madhur.. ur movies are really gr8..u hav done another good job in corporate so what will be the topic for ur next project.At a time u work only on 1 project or other project is also there?
Madhur Bhandarkar answers, I work in only one project at a time because my projects require a lot of research work, lot of detailing for the casting also. My next movie will be Traffic Signal, it will be a dark humour on the streets of Mumbai.
Madhur Bhandarkar answers, Definitely. I am looking forward to a good subject which gives me a budget of estimated 10-15 crores, but at the same time the movie will be in my parameters and sensibility.
Madhur Bhandarkar answers, Definitely, if I have a good subject I will definitely make a Marathi film. I am really fascinated about film makers like V Shantaram and Jabbar Patel. Jai Maharashtra!
Madhur Bhandarkar answers, We do have to play reality down sometimes because of censors and story line. Moreover I have a limited time to tell you the whole story in 2 hours, 15 minutes. It wont be possible for us to include and incorporate all the incidents. Do watch Corporate to find out the underbelly of the corporate world.

Madhur Bhandarkar answers, My film doesnt have a big star and it had a very unconventional name also. After the Friday 6pm show, it has picked up all over the country and according to trade pundits it has been already declared a hit.

Madhur Bhandarkar answers, I never make any movies which is action-oriented or a thrilling movie. My films are not very filmy or larger than life. I always make movies on social subjects. So I doubt whether I will be able to cast you as an action hero.

Madhur Bhandarkar answers, Yes, it was very difficult for me as a lot of people were very apprehensive when I was casting Bipasha. She has a very glamour image, but I had a gut feeling that she would work out in this movie. And today the whole world has appreciated her performance. Congratulations to Bipasha for her excellent performance.
