Both films have so much in common.
We were surprised to find startling similarities between the trailers of Lucknow Central and Qaidi Band.
Lucknow Central stars Farhan Akhtar, Diana Penty and Ronit Roy.
Qaidi Bank marks the debut of Aadar Jain -- Raj Kapoor's grandson -- and Ananya Singh.
The plot is basically the same -- a bunch of undertrials become singers and try to escape prison.

...Two fine actors play the jailer quite differently...
In Lucknow Central, Ronit Roy is the jailer from hell.
In Qaidi Band, Sachin Pilgaonkar adds a touch of humour to his jailer character.
Farhan is accused of a high-profile murder he says he did not commit.
We don't know why Aadar and Ananya are in jail yet .
Both films show the actors in court -- Farhan, before he goes to prison, and Ananya, after.
There is a lot of violence, as the inmates get beaten up by the jail staff and even each other.
