Lata Mangeshkar returns to singing!

Lata Mangeshkar will turn 85 later this month but the veteran singer has not retired from her illustrious career yet.

She recently recorded two songs for a Bengali album. One of the songs is written by late Bengali composer and poet Salil Chowdhury.

The 84-year-old singer shared a picture (left) and wrote: 'Namaskar. Abhi abhi maine 2 Bengali songs record kiye jisme se ek Salilda ka likha hua hai.'

Mangeshkar and Chowdhury had worked together in classics like 
Do Bigha Zamin, Sapne Suhane, Anand, and Kaala Patthar, among others.

Anushka: Proud to be a fauji's daughter

Anushka Sharma took to Twitter to salute the Indian Army for their efforts in the flood-affected areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

'Hats off to the Indian Armed Forces for their unfailing rescue and rehabilitation efforts in J&K . So proud to be a 'fauji's' daughter !!' she wrote.

While her dad Ajay Kumar Sharma is a colonel, her brother Karnesh is in the Merchant Navy.

Finding praise

Amitabh Bachchan caught an early screening of Finding Fanny, and is all praise for it.

He shared a picture with lead pair Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor and wrote: 'What a delightful slice of life 'Finding Fanny' .. well done Homi, NaseerS, Dimple, PankajK, Deepika and Arjun .. congratulations!' 

Nandita Das goes to Yale University

Nandita is currently in the US for her Yale World Fellowship. 

She shared a picture and wrote: 'Learning journey continues. At the sculpture that records the number of women enrolled at Yale over its history.' 

Yale World Fellows is an international fellowship programme at the Yale University for mid-career emerging leaders, who have distinguished themselves in their profession, discipline, or geographic region.

Amul's tribute to Mary Kom

Amul, which is known for their topical advertisements, has paid tribute to biopic 
Mary Kom with a new creative. The tag line that reads, 'Kombatant! Everybody's favourite box!'

Priyanka Chopra shared a picture of the ad and wrote: 'Best compliment!! I love Amul ads.' 

Annu Kapoor starts shooting for Dharam Sankat Mein

Annu, who was last seen in Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, has started shooting his upcoming film Dharam Sankat Mein.

'In Ahmedabad after a very long time for the shooting of dharam Sankat mein,' he updated.

Directed by Fuwad Khan, the social satire will also star Paresh Rawal and Naseeruddin Shah.

Bangistan goes to Leh

After shooting for a month in Poland, the 
Bangistan team has resumed shooting for their next schedule in Ladakh.

Ritesh Sidhwani wished them luck and wrote: '#Bangistan team leaves for Leh schedule.. Safe journey & happy shoot.'

Directed by Karan Anshuman, the film will star Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat.

Tigers shine at TIFF

Pakistani whistleblower Aamir Raza, whose life inspired Danis Tanovic's 
Tigers, was recently honoured by the Canadian government at the ongoing Toronto International Film Festival.

Emraan Hashmi, who stars in the film, shared a picture and wrote: 'Aamir raza honored by the Canadian govt at TIFF. Tigers is the story of how this courageous man took on the system.'
