Karisma, Kareena take center stage at Children's Film Festival

The 19th International Children's Film Festival (ICFFI) kicked off on Saturday, November 14, at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad. The inaugural event turned out to be a starry affair as quite a few B-townies made their presence felt at the do.

Kareena Kapoor Khan was the keynote speaker at the film festival which was also saw her sister Karisma and Tabu in attendance. 

The event was special for the Kapoor sisters as Karisma's daughter Samaira's film Be Happy was screened at the festival on Sunday, November 15.

The Kapoor sisters dance with India's wonder kid Akshat Singh, who had appeared on American talk show The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The Kapoor khandan came out in full force to support Karisma's daughter Samaira, who was showcasing her movie, Be Happy at the film festival

"I am very proud of my niece. She has the Kapoor film making genes in her. We might just have the first female director in the family," Kareena said.

Just like her aunt, Samaira's mommy dearest was super happy and said,"Samaira did a film making course two years ago and that was when this film was made. I didn't really push her anywhere or into any space -- but just allowed her to choose her own path and guided her respectively."

The Haider actress, who was pleasantly surprised, said, "I think it's fabulous that Karisma's daughter has made a movie! I was pleasantly surprised. As an artiste, I support this move for children's films!"
