Karan Johar's Pakistan connection

October 06, 2015 11:58 IST

After launching three new faces with his last directorial Student of the Year, filmmaker Karan Johar is now reportedly scouting out new talent in Pakistan.

For starters, he has offered Kapoor and Sons to Fawad Khan, who made his Bollywood debut opposite Sonam Kapoor in her home production Khoobsurat last year.

Interestingly, Khan chose Kapoor and Sons over Battle Of Bittora -- another Sonam starrer -- citing reservations about intimate scenes in the latter.

However, a source close to developments has a different story to tell, “Fawad hangs around Karan Johar’s office and socialises with other Dharma discoveries like Siddharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt.

“Reports that he had to give up Battle Of Bittora because of intimate scenes are false. There are no such scenes in the film.”

Meanwhile, another young, handsome Pakistani actor named Imran Abbas has caught KJo's keen eye.

After debuting with Muzaffar Ali’s Umrao Jaan a while ago, Abbas stars in Johar's Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer next directorial Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
