Karan Johar: Kaakka Muttai is a gem

Tamil film Kaakka Muttai has been receiving several accolades. The film won two National Awards - Best children’s film and Best child actors (Ramesh Thilaganathan and J Vignesh). It also received a standing ovation at the prestigious Toronto Film Festival and the Dubai International Film Festival. 

The film which released last week in India has got rave reviews and has won the hearts of the people. 

The film is presented by Fox Star Studios and produced by Dhanush and National Award-winning director Vetri Maaran. It is directed by Manikandan.

A quirky comedy, Kaakka Muttai narrates the story of two street kids who wish to eat a pizza. Realising that one pizza costs more than their family’s monthly income, they plan ways to earn more money, inadvertently setting in motion an adventure that will involve the entire city.

The latest on the long list of people who have been bowled over by this simple film is director Karan Johar.

He tweeted, ‘Kaakka Muttai is a gem of a film! Genuinely moved by it..Small film.. with a huge heart! Congrats @foxstarhindi @dhanushkraja’.

 Arya’s cycling team

 

Tamil star Arya, an avid sports enthusiast, has been a keen cyclist for the past few years. Now he has formed a cycling team and released its logo. 

The team will participate in its first cycling competition.

“It's called Vätternrundan race and it happens every year in Sweden in the town of Motala. This is the 50th year they are doing it,” says Arya.

He added, “The race is over a distance of 300 km, of mountains and lakeside rides against strong winds. You have 15 hours to complete the whole track. 

“I have been training for this for the last eight months.”
