Farhan Akhtar slams Chhattisgarh government

Actor and social activist Farhan Akhtar slammed the Chhattisgarh government for the Bilaspur sterilisation tragedy.

‘80 women operated on in 5 hours by 1 doctor in a state sponsored sterilisation drive in Chhattisgarh!! 12 are dead. Who is accountable? Now look at those percentages keeping in mind that you/your family get paid to be sterilised!’ Akhtar tweeted.

‘Why not educate about population issues or give state incentives to having a smaller family? What's this money for sterilisation nonsense? Good governance is about checks & balances. Ours seems heavily tilted towards balancing rather than checking. Cures rather than prevention,’ he added.
