Old is gold may not find favour with millennials, but director David Dhawan doesn't think so.
Why else would he, 20 years later, give us a sequel to his 1997 hit, Judwaa?
Everything in the Judwaa 2 trailer looks like the original except that Salman Khan has been replaced by Varun Dhawan.
And Karisma Kapoor and Rambha have been replaced with Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez.
Any other difference?
Yeah, lip locks were missing in 1997.
Varun excels with his comic timing in the trailer.
He dances well, fights well, romances well and makes you laugh.
Two hit songs from the original film, Tan Tana Tan Tan Tan Tara and Oonchi Hai Building, have been retained and adds flavour to the trailer.
The real test of Judwaa 2 will be the screenplay and dialogue.
Screenplay writer Yunus Sajawal and the brothers Sajid-Farhad have given superhits like Bol Bachchan, Golmaal 2, Golmaal 3, Singham and Chennai Express.
Their last outing was Shah Rukh Khan's Dilwale, a disaster at the box office.
Let's hope they get their abracadabra back with Judwaa 2.
