John Abraham, Varun Dhawan in Dishoom

June 22, 2015 10:59 IST

John AbrahamJohn Abraham, who has not signed a film for over two years, has finally broken his spell of celluloid celibacy.

He has said yes to pal Rohit Dhawan's Dishoom. The last film he had signed was Anees Bazmi’s Welcome Back

Ironically, the shooting of Dishoom got delayed primarily because the other leading man Varun Dhawan, who is the director’s brother, had no dates to spare until July.

Says a source close to the project, "The film would have rolled in January. John, who has a clean slate this year, gave dates to his buddy Rohit Dhawan. But Rohit’s brother, who plays the other lead, was busy completing and promoting two back-to-back projects Badlapur and ABCD 2. Varun is finally free for his brother."

"Varun doesn’t even have time to say hello to me," says his proud father David Dhawan. "I guess this is what every father dreams of. That his son should become busier than the father."
