Late Night host Jimmy Fallon will succeed standup comedian Jay Leno on the Tonight Show in 2014, when the show moves back to New York.
Leno has officially announced his retirement from NBC’s show, the New York Post
reported.
The channel is hoping to capture younger viewers and compete with ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel, with Fallon.
'Congratulations, Jimmy. I hope you’re as lucky as me and hold on to the job until you''re the old guy,' Leno said in a statement.
'If you need me, I’ll be at the garage,' he added.
