Guess who's back to work in Bollywood?

Things are finally returning to normal for Bollywood, as actors return to film studios.

It all started with Akshay Kumar, who completed his start-to-finish shoot for his film Bell Bottom in the UK.

Now, many more film folk are busy starting or wrapping up their film shoots, helping to bring the Bollywood business back on track.

Joginder Tuteja takes a look at the film projects that are on floors now.

 

Akshay Kumar
Bell Bottom, Prithviraj, Atrangi Re

Despite the pandemic affecting everyone in Bollywood, Akshay has wrapped up a film (Bell Bottom) and move on to his next.

Before the end of the year, he is expected to complete the shooting of Chandra Prakash Dwivedi's Prithviraj (opposite Manushi Chillar) and Aanand L Rai's Atrangi Re (with Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan).

 

Salman Khan
Radhe

Radhe was meant to be an Eid release but like most films, the shooting came to a grinding halt.

Fortunately, Salman Khan and Director Prabhu Deva were sure that this one would be a theatrical watch and so did not go the OTT way.

With things easing up, they are back shooting for the film.

It will be a Eid 2021 release.

 

Yash
KGF: Chapter 2

KGF: Chapter 1 was an all time blockbuster in Kannada cinema. Its dubbed Hindi version was a success too.

Now, its leading man Yash has started shooting for Chapter 2.

 

John Abraham
Satyameva Jayate 2, Mumbai Saga

John Abraham, who had three releases last year (Romeo Akbar Walter, Batla House and Pagalpanti), had as many this year as well.

But fate had other plans.

Now, he's all set to complete his work on Sanjay Gupta's Mumbai Saga.

He has also resumed shooting for Milap Zaveri's Satyameva Jayate 2, opposite Divya Khosla.

 

NT Rama Rao Jr, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn
RRR

An S S Rajamouli film is always special, especially after the Baahubali series.

His much awaited film RRR -- starring superstars like NT Rama Rao Jr, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt -- is as big as it gets.

The film resumed its shooting a few days ago.

 

Shahid Kapoor
Jersey

After Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor is working on yet another South remake, Jersey.

The Hindi version features Mrunal Thakur (Super 30, Batla House) opposite him and the shooting of the film, with cricket as the backdrop, recently wrapped up.

This is the only film that Shahid is working on currently and so one can't wait to see him back on screen in 2021.

 

Alia Bhatt
Gangubai Kathiawadi

The film was close to the finishing line when the lockdown was announced.

Now, Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has resumed shooting for the film which stars Alia Bhatt in the lead.

Gangubai Kathiawadi is really important for Alia, especially since her last release Sadak 2 turned out to be a disaster.

 

Deepika Padukone, Ananya Pandey, Siddhant Chaturvedi
Shakun Batra's next

Deepika Padukone is shooting her next film in Goa, and it co-stars Ananya Pandey and Siddhanth Chaturvedi.

Directed by Shakun Batra (Kapoor & Sons), it is produced by Karan Johar.

The film saw a sudden but quick break when Deepika had to return to Mumbai, when she was summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau in a drug case related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.

With that behind her now, she's back in Goa shooting for the film.

 

Ayushmann Khurranna
Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui

Ayushmann Khurranna and Vaani Kapoor have started shooting for Abhishek Kapoor's next.

A 'progressive love story', it will be shot in Ayushmann's hometown, Chandigarh.

 

Vivek Oberoi
Rosie: The Saffron Chapter

Vivek Oberoi's thriller Rosie: The Saffron Chapter is set in Gurgaon.

It will see Shweta Tiwari's daughter Palak make her debut. Directed by Vishal Mishra, this horror thriller is produced by Mandiraa Entertainment and Vivek Oberoi himself.
