Director Diphan made the Malayalam superhit action thriller, Puthiya Mugham, starring Prithviraj, some time back.
Now the two are teaming up again for another thriller titled Hero, where Prithviraj plays a stunt man.
Yami Gautam makes her debut in Malayalam films as the heroine.
Produced under the banner of Seven Arts International by G P Vijayakumar, Hero also stars Bala, Srikanth and Nedumudi Venu.
The scenarist is Vinod Guruvayur and the cinematographer is Bharani K Dharan. The music director is Gopi Sundar.
Prithviraj has been under constant attacks from the media and various social networking sites of late. The success of Indian Rupee helped him regain his popularity to a certain extent. His next release is the Johnny Antony thriller, Masters.
The shooting of Hero has started in Kochi.
