The eighth season of the Emmy-winning drama, The Practice concludes on May 16 as a few of its characters get ready to join a new firm. Although the characters that will shift are yet to be finalised, the viewers will be introduced to the new firm before the show wraps up, mentions a report on Los Angeles Times.
Initially, The Practice ratings had slipped, but the inclusion of new cast members, James Spader in particular, revived the serial. Though nothing is confirmed, it is rumoured that the new series will be a spin-off for Spader. It will have 22 episodes and will be lighter in terms of dramatic content.
Los Angeles Times quoted a spokesperson for writer-producer David E Kelley as saying, "David plans to use the tail end of The Practice as a springboard of sorts for the new show. "
The Practice has won 12 Emmys and a Golden Globe Award for Best Drama Series.
