Popular sketch comedy show Comedy Nights with Kapil will end its three-year-long run in January 2016. Rajul Hegde/ Rediff.com reports.
The popular reality show Comedy Nights with Kapil that airs on Colors TV will be winding up on January 17, next year, after having witnessed a successful three-year-run.
There is a buzz about Kapil taking his brainchild to another broadcaster (Star plus or Sony).
“Kapil and Krushna of Comedy Nights Bachao fame have been at loggerheads from quite some time now. With Comedy Nights Bachao following a similar format and ideas to the parent show (recently airing a suhag raat sequence like the original) things went out of hand. Kapil wanted some differentiation between these two series and wanted the channel to take a call,” sources said.
Apparently, Kapil was not happy with the way Comedy Nights with Kapil was being promoted and felt that the channel is giving more importance to Comedy Nights Bachao
Kapil and the channel are yet to make any official announcement on the closure of the show.
