Carlos Santana set for maiden trip to India

Carlos SantanaCarlos Santana, a world renowned name in rock guitar, is all set to perform for the first time in India next month.
 
The 65-year-old music icon will set the stage on fire with his signature Afro Latino Blues rock fusion on October 26 at the Vladivar Rock N India fest in Bangalore.
 
Santana's line up for his India gig includes his Latin-infused, multi-genre hit singles -- Black Magic Woman, Smooth, Evil Ways, Dance Into The Night, Oye Como Va, Maria Maria, While My Guitar Gently Sweeps and many more.
 
"The coming together of Santana and Vladivar Rock N India will create yet another benchmark in the music, entertainment
and lifestyle space," said Ashok Capoor, President & Managing Director United Spirits Limited.
 
Santana has sold more than 100 million records and has reached more than a 100 million fans at concerts worldwide. To
date, the Mexico-born guitarist has won 10 Grammy Awards, including a record-tying nine for a single project, 1999's
Supernatural.
 
Among many other honors, Santana received Billboard Latin Music Awards' 2009 Lifetime Achievement honour, and, he was
bestowed Billboard's Century Award in 1996.
 
His latest album Shape Shifter is the first for his new label, Starfaith Records. He has collaborated with international names such as Eric Clapton, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and Cee-Lo Green.
