irector Kunal Kohli's romantic comedy Hum Tum and Yash Chopra's epic Veer-Zaara have been nominated in more than 10 categories, including Best Film and Best Direction, by NRIs all over the world for the upcoming Bollywood Awards.The ceremony, which will be attended by the who's who of the Indian film fraternity, will be held in New Jersey on April 30. The awards are based on the result of polling among NRIs in USA, Europe, Canada, UK, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan will vie for Best Actor while Kareena Kapoor, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukerji, Shilpa Shetty and Urmila Matondkar have been nominated for Best Actress, chief executive officer of the awards Kamal Dandona announced.
Veteran actors Vyjantimala Bali and Shammi Kapoor will receive Lifetime Achievement awards. Choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan's Main Hoon Na, Ashutosh Gowariker's Swades and Sanjay Gadhvi's Dhoom will battle Hum Tum and Veer-Zaara in the Best Film category.
Singer Babul Supriyo vies with Kunal Ganjawala, Amir Jamal, Sonu Nigam and Udit Narayan for Best Male Playback while Vasundhara Das, Madhushree, Sadhna Sargam and Sunidhi Chauhan have been nominated in the best female playback category.
