Amit Sadh, who turns 35 today, had a tough time looking like a 60-year-old in Tigmanshu Dhulia's Yaara.
Amit decided to just adapt his director’s body language and speech style, since Tigmanshu is closer to the character’s age than Amit.
"Tishu was supposed to play the older avatar of my character but then he decided to merge the two actors and I was required to play the character’s young and older version. It helped me to understand myself better," Amit says.
But it’s Subhash Kapoor, Amit’s director in Guddu Rangeela, whom the young actor has really warmed up to. Amit treats Kapoor as a father-figure.
"He is my guide and mentor. Working on Guddu Rangeela with him, I learnt so much, and not just about filmmaking," the Kai Po Che actor says.
Amit always consults him before making any career moves.
Gary Renard’s book Disappearance Of The Universe has changed Amit Sadh’s attitude to life and love.
"It has taken me a long time to heal (after his breakup with actress Neeru Bajwa) and become whole again. This amazing book helped me to overcome my pain," he says.
Amit says he’s ready to love again. “But I am not holding my breath. Neither am I into flings and one-night stands. I am waiting for the right person."
