Oscar-winner (Gandhi) and last year's Oscar nominee (House Of Sand And Fog) Ben Kingsley will now play the evil King of vampires in Uwe Boll's BloodRayne.
The $47 million film is a video game-to-movie adaption, familiar territory for Boll, who made a similar adaptation with the Sega game, House Of The Dead, and the Atari game, Alone In The Dark.
Kagan, Kingsley's character, is the half-human, half-vampire king of the undead who wants to rule the world, whose daughter, BloodRayne (Kristanna Loken, whom you saw earlier as Terminatrix in Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines), has sworn to destroy him.
BloodRayne, who has a human mother and a vampire father, has to triumph over her father to save the world from the undead.
In her quest to overthrow her father, BloodRayne befriends two vampire hunters. Kagan has a monster's strength but a human's emotions.
USA Today mentions Shawn Williamson, co-producer of BloodRayne, saying, 'It is an incredible honor to have an actor of Sir Ben's calibre involved in our film. His talent and strength as an actor will help us create an outstanding cinematic experience.'
Meanwhile, a sequel to the BloodRayne video game, that first released in 2002, is set to hit the market in October.
