Any news about Baahubali is keenly awaited.

Addressing the media, director S S Rajamouli, producer Shobu Yarlagadda, and lead actor Prabhas said that the Telugu audio of Baahubali, which was to be released on Sunday, May 31, in Hyderabad, has been postponed.

Prabhas has a huge fan following and he has not been visible to them since he began filming Baahubali. The last time his fans saw him was after his film Mirchi released. Large numbers of his fans attend audio launches, and this creates problems.

Rajamouli explained: “When we were told that only a certain number of fans would be allowed inside the venue and many would have to be outside, we had to postpone it.

“Also, one had to keep in mind the small incidents that had occurred at previous audio launches of films. So keeping safety in mind, we have postponed the audio and trailer launch in Telugu. We are working on different options on how to go about this.”

Prabhas apologised to fans keenly waiting for this big day.

Shobu Yarlagadda said, “We apologise for this sudden postponement but we will do this function well.”

Rajamouli also mentioned that the launch of the Hindi trailer will go on as scheduled in Mumbai on June 1.

Asked if Karan Johar had acquired the rights for the Hindi version, producer Shobu said, “We were looking for someone in Hindi and AA Films and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions bought it. We felt Karan Johar would be the right person and we are happy he is on board.”

Rajamouli indicated that the running time of the first part of Baahubali is about two hours 35 minutes.

The recording of the first part is about 90 per cent complete and other post-production is on. “About 70 per cent of the shoot of Part 2 is over,” Rajamouli added.

When asked about the recent Cannes experience, Shobu said, “We were trying to see the potential of the film. It looks positive. We showed 10 minutes of it in the market section to select people and they were impressed by it. The response was good.”

Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju to remade in Tamil

Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju, a love story directed by Kranthi Madhav, starring Sharwanand and Nithya Menen, has met with a good response from critics and audiences.

Produced by K S Rama Rao, the film is a heart-warming, feel-good love story.

Given the popularity of both actors in Tamil (Sharwanand became popular with Engeyyum Eppodum, and Nithya’s recent Mani Ratnam-directed O Kadal Kanmani is a huge hit) this Telugu film is to be made as Nee Naan Naam in Tamil.
