Asha Bhosle's son Hemant passes away

Singing doyenne Asha Bhosle's elder son Hemant Bhosle is no more.

He was undergoing treatment for cancer in Scotland, where he succumbed to the illness on September 26.

However, Ashaji was not informed of the tragedy immediately as she was to perform at a concert in Singapore.

Coincidentally, the veteran singer was performing in Singapore when her daughter, Rediff.com columnist Varsha Bhosle committed suicide in 2012.

Hemant Bhosle started out as a music composer in films like Anil Sharma’s Shradhanjali, Eshmayeel Shroff’s Agar and Taxi Taxi, in which he fulfilled his dream of bringing his mother and aunt (the legendary Lata Mangeshkar) together for the song Laayee Kahaan Ae Zindagi.
