Bollywood gets ready for IIFA, coming up in June.
Anil Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Arjun Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha turned out in style at a suburban five-star hotel yesterday to announce the IIFA Weekend 2015, which will take place in Malaysia from June 5 to 7.
The awards will be hosted by Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.
Arjun Singh, who was wearing a shirt with Aaj kuch sanskari karte hai, written on it, told the assembled media, “I have had a man crush on Hrithik Roshan. He has made the industry Roshan. I will be hosting IIFA this year, but seeing him I feel I will get distracted."
Shahid Kapoor who has hosted the IIFA awards ceremony for the past two years, said, “Now that we have two psychotic people taking over (Arjun and Ranveer). I will perform again after four or five years.”
Shahid, too, was all praise for Hrithik Roshan.
“When you stand next to, sit next to, act and dance next to Hrithik, it just reminds you of the fact that you have a really long way to go as a dancer,” he said.
He added, “Everyone tells me that he rehearses a lot and that inspires me. I am nervous before each performance, but this time Hrithik will be there so I am even more nervous."
It was an evening of praises all round and Anil Kapoor had kind words for the younger actors present.
“I am a fan of Hrithik’s and I feel he will be a star for 30-40 years. Shahid is also an amazing actor. Sonakshi is also a great actress. If jhakkas is popular, then the dialogue ‘Khamosh’ is even more popular and that is in her blood,” Anil Kapoor quipped.
He said his nephew Arjun “has surprised me the most. Whenever I meet you and interact with you, it’s absolutely fantastic. This is just the beginning, just the tip of the iceberg. You are going to be huge.”
Hrithik returned the compliment when he said, “I used to call Anil Kapoor 'uncle' earlier, but now I can't. I am 40 now but Anil still looks 39. He looks so young.”
Designer Rocky S, who will host a fashion show at IIFA, did not give away much.
“This is the fourth time I’m showcasing at IIFA,” he said. “The theme is monochrome black and white, my signature colours. There is a lot to expect but I’m keeping that a surprise."
