AR Rahman awarded Japan's Fukuoka prize

AR Rahman has added yet another feather to his illustrious cap.

He has been awarded Japan's prestigious Fukuoka Prize for 2016, making the country proud once again.

The Fukuoka Prize is an award established by the city of Fukuoka and the Fukuoka City International Foundation to honor the outstanding work of individuals or organizations in preserving or creating Asian culture.

The Award was announced on Monday, May 30 and it is said that Rahman received this honor for his outstanding contribution towards creating, preserving and showcasing South Asian traditional fusion music.

Amy Jackson to play a cameo in AL Vijay’s Abhinetri

Amy Jackson made her debut in director AL Vijay’s period drama Madrasapattinam, when she was just 16.

The actress has now taken some time off her hectic schedule to play a cameo in her mentor’s upcoming venture, Abhinetri, starring Tamannaah and Prabhu Deva.

A horror thriller, the film is being simultaneously made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Amy will be seen shaking a leg with Prabhu Deva in the film and the actress posted a series of tweets and fun pictures of her catching up with her first director.

'Shooting for a guest appearance & special song today.. GUESS WHO for? Here's a clue - he's my guru.'

'It's AL Vijay! My first director who discovered me when I was 16 & launched me in my first movie #Madrasapattinam.'

Dhansika to play a cop in her next

Dhansika became the talk of the town when she was selected for an important role in superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali.

The film is expected to release in July this year, and the actress has already moved on to her next project, in which she will be seen playing a cop.

Titled Kaathadi, the film is being directed by S Kalyan of Kadha Solla Porom fame.

The film is touted to be an action thriller and the actress is believed to have done quite a few daredevil stunts without using a body double.

Avishek, brother of actress Maheshwari, will play the male lead supported by John Vijay, Sampath, Naan Kadavul Rajendran and Kaali Venkat.
