Anees Bazmee's Welcome Back in trouble?

September 03, 2015 10:25 IST

The frantic goings-on behind the scenes of Anees Bazmee's upcoming multistarrer comedy Welcome Back could well be the plot for his next film.

Word is, the film's release would have been landed in trouble if not for the magnanimity of cast member Anil Kapoor and Bazmee.

Producer Firoz Nadiadwala apparently owes his director Bazmi and leading man Anil Kapoor substantial amounts of remuneration for their work on the film.

The two had even decided to seek permission of the film federations to stall the film’s release until their dues were cleared.

Says a source close to the development, “Firoz owes Anees Rs 4 crore and Anil Kapoor Rs 4-5 crore.

“Both demanded their dues be cleared before the film’s release. However, better sense prevailed in time; Anees and Anil decided to not obstruct the film’s release for their dues. And now the film will be released on time.”

Last heard, Bazmee and Kapoor are yet to be paid their dues but the duo have been assured that the needful will be done soon.
