How did Psycho come to you?
Actually we discussed the project four years ago. Though producer Guru and I belonged to Mysore, we met four years ago in Bangalore.
At that time, Guru did not have any financial backers. Director Devadatta was not in the picture then. Last year we finally started work on this film. I am happy that along with top lyricists like Jayanth Kaikini, V Manohar and veteran R N Jayagopal, I have also written the lyrics for this film. R N Jayagopal sir wrote his last song for Psycho before his death. I would like to reiterate that Psycho's album has been much appreciated for its lyrical value.
Generally I write lyrics for all my songs whether it is in Kannada, Hindi or English, but I thought it was better for me to use the best lyrical talents in the Kannada film industry for my first film album.
What are your future projects?
I have taken up two Kannada film projects. The first one is actor-director Sudeep's Just Math Mathnalli. I am also working on Super Man which stars Prajwal in the lead.
