Noted theater personality Jaydev Hattangadi passed away on Friday morning in Mumbai following prolonged illness. He was 60.
Hattangadi, who was suffering from cancer for last one year, is survived by his actress wife Rohini and a son, family sources said.
The end came in the early hours at a private nursing home where he was admitted for the last couple of days for treatment, they said.
A guest professor and a dedicated theater person, Hattangadi directed plays like 'Changur' for the Avishkar theater group besides 'Mitti Ki Gadi' and 'Surya Ke Waris'.
Despite having done few films with directors like Govind Nihlani, Hattangadi was never inclined towards cinema.
