Aamir Khan's brother, Faisal Khan on Thursday filed an appeal before the Bombay High Court challenging the sessions court's order refusing to stay the telecast of reality show Bigg Boss 2.
Faisal Khan approached the High Court seeking a stay on the telecast of the reality show alleging that the contract signed between him, Viacomm 18 media, the newly launched Colors channel and production company Endemol was terminated at the last moment allegedly at the behest of Aamir Khan [Images].
Khan had first approached the sessions court which denied to grant any relief observing that stay on the telecast can be granted only when the applicant has suffered from irreparable loss.
"However, Khan has not suffered any such loss and thus no relief can be granted," additional sessions Judge K P Joshi had observed. Khan in his appeal before the high court has claimed that he was invited to participate in the reality show after which a contract was signed on July 29 this year.
Faisal was promised to pay a signing amount of Rs seven lakh out of which he was paid Rs 5.25 lakh immediately. The remaining amount will be paid after completion of 15 days in the show. However, on August 11 Khan learnt through a newspaper article that he would not be featuring in the show.
Faisal has alleged that his brother, who has always been "jealous" of his success, has used his influence as a Bollywood actor to terminate his contract. The appeal will be heard in due course of time.
