Salman Khan has had enough of Shah Rukh Khan [Images] and is no longer interested in patching up with the 'Badshah.' The on and off friendship between the two appears to be over.
"We are two different individuals with different perspectives. I used to like him a lot but things have changed. We do not see eye-to-eye now," Salman told reporters last night on the sets of his new film Veer at Mehboob Studios, in suburban Mumbai.
His remarks come amid reports of a nasty verbal duel between the two Khans at Katrina Kaif's [Images] birthday party on July 16. Quite a few film personalities were invited, including Shah Rukh and Aamir Khan [Images]. Towards the end of the party, an altercation reportedly broke out between Salman and Shah Rukh allegedly over their respective television shows -- 10 Ka Dum and Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain.
SRK [Images] apparently stormed out of the party with wife Gauri and friend Karan Johar [Images] in tow. Aamir reportedly tried to intervene but the two Khans were in no mood to make up.
Salman probably compared his show to SRK's and said that despite his (Shah Rukh) being a superstar, Paanchvi Pass was not doing well. This enraged SRK, who passed a snide remark Aishwarya Rai [Images], Salman's former girlfriend.
"Shah Rukh and I will never patch up," Salman said in an interview to a tabloid. "I am not going to deny that there are issues between us. I am a primitive man born in today's time. I can't fake anything. If there is a problem, I am not going to deny it. We have had problems before also but this time, I don't think we can sort them out. I don't think we can be friends. I think it is better to declare that rather than put on a fake facade of being friends and back-biting each other."
Before the party incident and its ramifications on the power equations, the two superstars shared a lot of history. In his struggling days, SRK even lived in Salman's house. They have acted in three films together -- Karan Arjun, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai [Images] and Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam.
"Yeah, that is in the past," said Salman. "But let me tell you that I have only been to Shah Rukh's house twice in my life."
Ask Salman whether their shows led to this stalemate and he quips, "No, I don't think it is because my show is doing better. I don't think he is that insecure. The reason for the fight is personal."
Salman also set the record straight about his relationship with Katrina. Asked if they are together, he confessed with a 'Yeah.'
But that did not stop him from wondering who was behind the break-up and make-up stories in Bollywood and mainstream press.
"I want to know who are all these friends, sources close to me and my family, who speak on our behalf. My friends will never speak like that. Obviously it is someone, who is insecure, jealous and friendly to the press. Maybe they are someone else's friends," he said.
Salman's new film, God Tussi Great Ho, is out for release this week. Apparently, during the making of the film, things went sour between the actor and his heroine Priyanka Chopra [Images] and the two never patched up.
Priyanka recently said that both had a lot of fun making the film, which shows up on-screen. Salman, on the other hand, says "I am cordial with her."
