History seems to repeat itself in Bollywood.
Three decades ago, three men got together to make a film called Duniya Mere Jeb Mein -- Rishi Kapoor [Images], Paintal and director Bittu. Today, their sons -- Ranbir Kapoor [Images], Hiten Paintal and Siddharth Anand -- are making a film together, called Bachna Ae Haseeno [Images].
Son of legendary comedian Paintal, Hiten is in the limelight because for his role in the Yash Raj Film, which releases this week. Not only has he won praises from the cast and crew of the film for his acting abilities but also for his sense of humour.
"This is a comeback film for me and my career depends on it," says Hiten, who has earlier worked in two films, Tere Liye and Dil Maange More. "In Bachna, I play Sachin, Ranbir's best friend. We think alike and are extremely fond of women! But we never take the girls seriously and have fun in every relationship. The story revolves around Ranbir and the three girls [Bipasha Basu [Images], Deepika Padukone [Images] and Minissha Lamba [Images]] in his life, and how his life changes with these girls. It is a fun film."
The actor claims that working with such a big banner has been 'awesome.' "Working with a banner like Yash Raj Films is quite an experience. Everything is so professional. There is so much to learn," says Hiten.
"Though our parents were pals, I met Ranbir for the first time during the script reading session. We immediately hit it off and became good friends," says Hiten.
Hiten also saw the romance bloom between Ranbir and Deepika Padukone. "When the film's shoot started in Australia [Images], there was nothing cooking between Ranbir and Deepika. It happened as the film progressed. But to their credit, they did not let it affect their work," he tells us.
