It's going to be a wind of change for Shillongites this winter.
In keeping with the rock bands that have hit the city in the past, Scorpions -- the popular heavy metal band from Germany [Images] -- will open their Humanity World Tour with a concert in Shillong on December 12, in Mumbai on December 14 and Bangalore on December 16.
The Shillong concert is being organised by Centre Point Entertainment Network (CPEN) in collaboration with Network 18 Channel.
But first, just days after Mr Big frontman Eric Martin's concert on October 27 with Amit Paul, Shillong is all set to welcome world renowned metal band Sepultura on October 31 as part of their Dante XXI India Tour.
Named as Metal Fest 2007, the concert -- which will be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium -- has already attracted thousands of metal fans from Meghalaya and neighbouring North East states.
The concert is organised and sponsored by Kingfisher brand of United Breweries [Get Quote] Group. The band has already arrived in Shillong from New Delhi where they performed an opening concert at Hamsadhwani Theater on October 28.
After their show in Shillong, the band will conclude the India tour at a concert in Palace Ground, Bangalore.
The band members comprise of Andreas Kisser (guitar), Derrick Green (vocals/guitar), Paulo Jr (bass) and Jean Dolabella (drums).
