With the Kapoor family giving over 60 years to Indian cinema, the daughter of legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor, Ritu Nanda plans to approach the Guinness Book authorities over the family's contribution.

"Out of the more than 90 years of filmmaking in India, almost 60 years have seen the Kapoor family playing a significant role in the industry. I am thinking of approaching the Guinness Book people now," said Nanda at the launch of a book based on Raj Kapoor.

The book Raj Kapoor, a smaller version of the 2002 published coffee table book Raj Kapoor Speaks, was released as yet another Kapoor, Ranbir -- son of Rishi Kapoor [Images] -- is scheduled to make his acting debut with the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, Saawariya.

"The book, like Raj Kapoor's films, are meant for the common man. It is for those people who want to know about the actor whom they love," said Nanda adding, the book has been the result of her cumulative research that began a year after the death of her father in 1989.

"The material was first published in Russia [Images] and it was a tribute by the Russians who loved my father and his work," Nanda said.

Accompanied by Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir, she presented the book to President Pratibha Patil.

"I felt proud of the fact that the First Lady accepted the book and gave us her blessings," Rishi said.

Raj Kapoor traces his early life, his contribution as an actor, his relationships with his children and his passion of filmmaking.

"All of us have been inspired greatly by our father," Rishi added. "His contribution towards the Hindi film industry has been immense. Ritu has made us proud by putting together his life as seen in close quarters. There are a lot of unknown facets about him which this book will bring to light."
