Ghazal singer Jagjit Singh has been admitted to Bombay hospital following low blood circulation in the brain, hospital sources said.
The 66-year-old singer arrived at the hospital, accompanied by his wife Chitra, this morning. He complaining of weakness and was examined by Keki Turel, a neurosurgeon in the institute.
Following a physical examination, it was found that Singh was suffering from low blood circulation to the brain and with timely medication, a stroke was averted, Turel said.
"Singh is an old patient of mine and even six months ago, a similar situation was averted as he was irregular in taking his prescribed medication," Turel told PTI.
Singh is presently recuperating in the hospital and is fine, he added.
