It is very difficult to predict the quality of Kannada films these days. Films like Deadly Soma and Duniya directed by first time directors created waves in the industry. Orata I Love You also made by a fresh team of youngsters stands above the run of the mill films made of late, and is certainly a welcome addition to the list of reasonably good commercial films.

Varada is a street rowdy who is being used by a local politician to win an election. He saves Kavya, a college student who stays in a hostel but his behaviour frightens Kavya. Varada realizes he is in love with the girl but is unable to reveal his feelings.

Meanwhile the politician wins the election but betrays the trust of Varada by pitting him against another don. Varada becomes physically immobile later. Finally a reformed Varada unites with his love.

Producer Manohar, director Sreenivas, writer Anil, music director B R Shankar, actors Prashanth and Sowmya were all unknown names till now.

Sreenivas succeeds in narrating the story in an interesting manner.  The film's second half does not have a single dull moment and the story moves at a fast pace. He has received apt support from his music director Shankar, writer Anil and cameraman Surendranath.

First time music director B R Shankar has created melodious songs like Yaaro, and Kannalli Kannanittu, Mumaith Khan's hot item number. The quality of choreography adds up to the appeal.

The quality of dialogues too is very good. Sreenivas has made good use of his theatrical experience in the art and costumes department.

Performance wise, all the youngsters including Prashanth and Sowmya show class.

In a nutshell, though Orata I Love You may not be in the same league as Duniya or Mungaru Male, it certainly is a well-made film with good dialogues, decent performances, scintillating music and good choreography.

Watch it and enjoy.
