Shilpa Shetty appealed to the Supreme Court seeking a stay on the criminal proceedings initiated against her in various police stations in the Richard Gere kiss row.

A bench, headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan, listed the matter for hearing tomorrow.

The actress had sought quashing of criminal cases registered against her at Jodhpur, Ghaziabad and Munawar (Halwar) police stations.

Hollywood star Richard Gere had kissed Shilpa on her cheek during an AIDS awareness programme in the capital last month, and the act had evoked strong protests in several cities.
