We asked readers to send in their reviews of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows and here's what Riddhi Aswani sent in:

Having begun reading the Harry Potter [Images] books at the age of 13, for me, the end of the series is almost like the end of an era.

I've cried every time J K Rowling has written a glorious ending and greedily waited for the next installment in the series. For me, pre-ordering the last installment was something that simply had to be done.

So, the first thing I did on July 21, at 8 am, was to go to my bookstore and pick up the copy that held the tale of the last journey of a character I had come to adore.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows opens quite like the previous three books in the series -- with an explosive first chapter. It's almost like J K Rowling is drawing invisible claws into you so that she can keep you rooted while you finish the book.

The book opens with Lord Voldemort back to his old ways. His followers are frightened, unsure of what they set out to do and how far they have come. Voldemort does his plotting and scheming, with an intent to do great things -- terrible, but great things, to quote a famous wand maker.

Over the course of the chapter, you read of the Dark Lord's sinister plans and you just know that this book is going to be different. Darker, still more suspenseful.

And then we shift to our protagonist, who is aware of what he is going to experience this year. Harry has witnessed three deaths by now and over the course of the books becomes intimately acquainted with the nature of the unforgivable curses, finally able to cast them himself.

However, not once does he utter the words 'Avada Kedavra'.

He is still human and that is precisely why he sends his cousin, aunt and uncle into hiding. While moving from the house, a scene quite like the one in the Order of the Phoenix, Harry has a showdown with Voldie and his Death Eaters --  the first of many in the book. His loss begins from that moment itself, with a few unnecessary deaths ahead.

The book reveals more about Albus Dumbledore, Severus Snape, the Dark Lord and a mysterious trio of powerful objects -- the Deathly Hallows.

Harry and his friends Ron and Hermione are on the run. Harry is labelled 'undesirable number one.'

Three most mesmerising scenes stay with me while I write this review, the first being Kreacher sobbing and blurting out the truth about R A B, and his reformed status as a Potter loyalist. The next is the one in which Harry destroys a Horcrux by asking Ron to do it. And, of course, the end.

The best parts of the book are when Harry overpowers three Death Eaters along with Ron and Hermione at a Muggle cafe as well as the ones where Harry looks into Severus Snape's memories. Key characters like Neville Longbottom and Luna Lovegood emerge as great surprises. The hunt for the Horcruxes slows the pace of the book, but the snippets of information that these parts provide make up for the lack of action.

Dumbledore always said Harry had powers the Dark Lord knows not, and we always scoffed at the idea of love being that power. But towards the end of the epic face-off, when Harry and Voldie stand looking at each other and Harry finally takes charge, you realise how the smallest of defences can help bring a wall down.

By the time you finish reading the book and come to the soapy epilogue, you will most probably sit up and realise that this is probably the only way that this poignant series could have ended.

The end leaves you sad, because it is the end of an era.

However, JKR ends on a note from where many fan fictions can sprout.

All in all a very enjoyable read; I'm off to go and read it again.
