After his film got a bumper opening at the box office, Himesh Reshammiya has decided to reduce his singing assignments and concentrate on his acting career.
"I have got a lot of offers from different producers and I am considering this (acting) option at this stage," Himesh said.
Asked whether it means goodbye to singing and music composition, he answered, "It is not a total goodbye. I am going to reduce my singing and music composition assignments. I will concentrate on acting now."
Himesh became famous overnight when the music of Aashiq Banaya Aapne released in 2005. After that, there was no looking back. He gave the film industry hit after hit, despite critics labelling his voice 'nasal.'
Soon, Himesh decided it was time to test his skills as an actor. His childhood friend Prashant Chadha gave Himesh an image, and even directed him in Aap Kaa Surroor: The Moviee: The Real Luv Story.
In an interview to rediff.com, Himesh claimed that if his film would be a hit, he would consider doing a sequel. That is already in the scripting stage now.
"I have two films in mind with Himesh at this juncture," Prashant says. "The first one will be a sequel to Aap Kaa Surroor. I still have to write the other.
"All of us are very tired after the hard work we did on Aap Kaa Surroor," Prashant continued. "Himesh and our team are going for a week-long holiday to Goa [Images] to celebrate our success. When we return, we will go ahead with our strategy."
