The condition of Saif Ali Khan, who was admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital after complaining chest pain on Sunday night, was stable but he remained under medical observation in the intensive care unit, hospital sources said.
"Khan has undergone an angiography and his condition is stable," Narendra Trivedi, Vice-President of Lilavati Hospital in suburban Bandra, said.
He is under medical observation, Trivedi added.
Khan, son of former cricketer Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore, complained of chest pain just before the beginning of the Stardust award function in Mumbai on Sunday, sources said.
His mother was with him and she may speak to the media later in the day, hospital sources said.
Khan, who was selected for the Stardust award for best actor in a negative role for his performance in Omkara, was rehearsing for his dance performance at the awards function when he complained of chest pain.
Interestingly, his film Eklavya released last Friday, and opened to critical acclaim.
