Tired of watching ageing Telugu heroes running around trees in so called action flicks? Then go and watch Notebook. This simple love story of a young couple is minus the mindless violence and double entendres of it's predecessors.

Directed by Chandu, the film has just the right mix of all the necessary commercial ingredients.

Set against a village backdrop, the film captures the lush greenery and typical Telegu attire, well.

Chandu, who's previous film 10th class was a hit, managed to extract good performances from the cast.

The film revolves around the couple and their group of friends. Nandini (Gayathri) and Raju (Rajeev) are childhood buddies. Raju loses his parent quite early in life and is brought up by Nandini's mother. Raju dotes on Nandini and becomes her caretaker. Love blossoms between the two. Nandini reveals her feelings for him on a page of a notebook and leaves the other page blank for him to fill up. But the elders play spoilsport and the story goes on to show how the couple overcome the hurdles.

The narration is smooth and all the episodes are in sync with the main story.

Gayathri is the surprise package of the film. A refreshing new face, she emotes well too. Rajeev is okay, but could have done better. Comedy is well timed and that too by newcomers. Music by debutant Mickey J Mayer is soothing except for one raunchy item song.
