Karnataka may have its first woman chief minister soon, but only on the silver screen. The movie will star Lok Sabha member Tejaswini [Images] Gowda in the lead role and will be called Tejaswini-Voice of the Voiceless. This is the second movie about Karnataka politics and its release will coincide with the Karnataka assembly elections, slated to be held in early 2008. Another movie which is set to hit the screen soon is Mukhyamantri I Love You, which, according to Janata Dal supremo H D Deve Gowda, attempts to ridicule his family.
Film experts say that the new film aims at increasing Tejaswini's popularity among the masses. Tejaswini herself has had an eventful career she has been a student activist, a television journalist and then a Member of Parliament from the Congress. In the film, she will become the state's first woman chief minister.
The movie, which will be produced by Tejas Movies Enterprises, will also star Ramesh Arvind. Tejaswini, however, claims that the movie is not politically driven but revolves around her personal life. She says that the film will be a medium to communicate with the people of Karnataka and it will portray women oriented issues.
The MP admits that she is not averse to the idea of becoming chief minister and admits that she would want to don the role of a real life CM at some point in her career.
