Anil Kapoor has a really funny side. And we're not even talking about his comic movie roles.
The actor has a lot of wisecracks up his sleeve, and we got a first-hand experience of that when we spoke to him about his new film, Welcome.
If you were to woo someone, do you have any dialogue handy now?
I play an artist (in Welcome), not an actor. So I only paint. Dialogues are meant for my better half, Uday (played by Nana Patekar [Images]).
How did you become a don from a painter?
What happened was that my younger brother Hussainsaab has been staying in Dubai for a few years. When I went to meet him there, I thought of learning the nuances of painting from him.
So, what do you paint?
I do live painting in the film. Hussainsaab paints on the canvas, and we (along with Nana) do it on the faces of people!
What more will we see in Welcome?
I would like people to come and watch this film for Akshay Kumar [Images]. Katrina Kaif [Images] is another attraction. People should come to see Nana and me too.
You have turned designer with Welcome.
Yes, because we fell short of clothes. The big designers of this country don't have time and they were demanding a lot of money from us. So I decided to design my own clothes. It was a difficult task designing clothes for bhai log. For this, I spoke to some bhai log. They also donated clothes to me. Now please don't ask me who those people are because it will lead to an enquiry. Then, news channels will start running after me.
The film also has a reunion of sorts. You are working with Feroz Khan and Nana after a long gap.
Welcome is basically a Manmohan Desai sort of film. It is about brothers who have the same blood group and who reunite after separation. They separated years ago, but have reunited with Welcome. We all got lost during Kumbh Mela.
So whom does Mallika Sherawat [Images] choose between you and Nana?
You have to watch the film for this. But let me add that Mallika and Katrina have acted fabulously in the film.
